Northeast Florida, county by county.
From our base in Keystone Heights we work across 7 counties — 68 communities in all, from the sandhill lake country west of the St. Johns out to the barrier-island coast. Every one of them builds differently, and every one has its own page explaining how.
Clay County
KCB's home county. Clay runs from the St. Johns River at Green Cove Springs west into the sandhill lake country around Keystone Heights, which means a single county covers riverfront bulkhead work, established suburban remodels, and ground-up builds on well-and-septic acreage.
Duval County
Consolidated city-county government, so nearly every project in Duval is permitted through one office. The building stock splits hard between pre-war brick and frame houses in the historic riverfront neighborhoods and post-1980 slab construction further out.
St. Johns County
The fastest-growing county in the service area, and the most regulated. Coastal construction lines, master-planned community architectural review, and a nationally significant historic district all sit inside the same county line.
Putnam County
Built along the St. Johns River and the lake chain feeding it. Waterfront work dominates — docks, bulkheads, boathouses and elevated additions on lots that have been in families for generations.
Bradford County
Small-town and agricultural, immediately north of KCB's Keystone Heights base. Large lots, well and septic, and a strong market for pole barns, shops and additions rather than subdivision work.
Union County
Florida's smallest county by area and almost entirely rural. Projects here sit on acreage with private wells and septic systems, long access drives, and no municipal utility support to lean on — the site work is usually the decisive part of the budget.
Alachua County
Karst limestone country. Sinkhole geology, protected springsheds and an aggressive tree canopy ordinance make site work and foundation design the decisive part of most Alachua County projects.
